How to play
- A tile is free when nothing is stacked on top of it and its left or right side is open.
- Tap two identical free tiles to remove them. Any Flower matches any other Flower.
- Clear every tile to win. Each tile has exactly one partner on the board, so any match you make is safe: you can never get stuck. Ask for a pair whenever you like.
Solitaire is not the same game as Mahjong. Mahjong Solitaire is a one-player matching puzzle played with mahjong tiles. American Mahjong is a four-player game of building hands from a card, passing tiles and calling discards. Solitaire is still a relaxing way to get to know the tiles. Can every game of Mahjong Solitaire be won?
Here, yes, and you cannot get stuck. Every deal is built so that it can be cleared, and each tile has exactly one partner, so no match can ever block the way. Some solitaire games deal boards at random, which can make them impossible.
Is Mahjong Solitaire the same as Mahjong?
No. Solitaire is a matching puzzle for one player. Mahjong, including American Mahjong, is played by four people who build hands.
Which tiles match?
Identical tiles: two 5 Craks, two North Winds, two Red Dragons. All Flowers match each other.
